The Foundation of French Sport

Sport represents a connection between peoples, characterized by a shared effort, self-iprovement, and exchange. The Foundation of French Sport is rooted in this universal context, based on sports ethics, tolerance, and education. It supports original and innocative sports projects with social or economic objectives. The foundation hosts and promotes sports associations that share these same ideals. It participates in national and international sporting events and major competitions, as long as they are founded on the humanistic values of sport. Additionally, it works alongside the country's sports institutions to develop sports for the widest possible audience, focusing on facilities and participation.

The Kennish Martin Crew

At Palettes Services, we are proud to support the values of sport, which is why we are sonsoring the sailing team that will compete in the 2028 Olympic Games.

Here's a brief overview of their 2023/2024 season :

In total, Malo and Anatole participated in 5 championships and sailed for 166 days while continuing their studies.

During this season, they have gained momentum in every aspect of the project :

  • Physical : They are now just 5 kilograms away from reaching their target weight of 167 kg, which will allow them to be fast in the breeze without being penalized in light wind conditions
  • Technical : They have worked on maintaining a stadle trim in all conditions, as well as on maneuvres, especially challenging conditions ( jubes, bear-aways, tacks, starts...). They've also focused on coordination between the helm and mainsail trimming, roles held respectively by the helmsman and crew.
  • Mental : For the first time, they have worked with a mental coach to manage pressure and stress during high-stakes regattas.
  • Equipment: They tested several sets of sails and appendages on their boat and replaced all the fittings to improve reliability ans optimize their 49er.
  • Tacticq and Strategy : In addition to stydying theory by reading Marc Bouet and analyzing their GPS tracks, they have reviewed their communication, information gathering, and decision-making processes, which needed a refresh !

All this hard work has paid off

At the Senior World Championship in Lanzarote ( Canary Islands) in March, they were able to see progress in terms of speed and tactics. They finished 34 th overall, but more importantly, 1st in the under-23 category, a great achievement !

In preparation for the Youth World Championship, they took part in the Kiel Regatta ( Germany), the largest regatta in the world. Once again, they delivered a strong performance, finishing 7 th overall after a great medal race where they placed 2nd, and also ranked highly in the U23 category.

For the final regatta of the season, the Youth World Championship in Galicia, Malo and Anatole were ready to achieve their goal for the year ! Unfortunately, they faced light and unstable wind conditions, an area where they still need to improve. Malo and Anatole finished 10 th.
